Ideal location for exploring Seoul
Staying at GLAD Mapo was a delight, especially due to its prime location right next to Gongdeok Station. This made accessing nearby attractions and the airport hassle-free. The room was clean, and I particularly appreciated the complimentary bottles of water supplied each day. The nearby restaurants, including a couple right within the building, served delicious local meals that felt authentically Korean, making our dining experiences truly memorable. The staff were helpful, allowing us an early check-in with no issue, which was a welcome bonus after our long flight.
However, we did face some minor issues. The shower head had a sharp edge that caused a few scratches during our stay. Also, the mains sockets seemed to malfunction occasionally, which was quite frustrating when trying to charge devices. Be mindful of this when selecting rooms on different sides of the bed. the charging situation could be tricky for couples with multiple devices. One last note—breakfast wasn’t included, which I felt should have been given the price point of the hotel.

I had a fantastic stay! The room was spacious with an efficient layout. Plus, I loved that I could tuck the kids in early, have a quick coffee at nearby cafes, and not worry about my luggage thanks to their elevators. One downside was that there wasn’t a reservation for the hair shop like I expected.

Spent 5 nights in a Standard Double Room. The location is superb, with easy access to public transport and local cafes. Housekeeping was consistently on point, keeping the room clean. Amenities like the humidifier and electric clothes dryer were a plus, and the friendly staff made handling luggage effortless. However, the room felt a bit stuffy at times, and the noise from the street could be distracting.

The location was ideal, within walking distance of a metro station that opened up various parts of the city. Our room was well appointed, featuring an iron and ironing board which was a nice touch for travelers. The nearby dining options were a pleasant surprise, offering authentic local Korean cuisine that added to our experience. We enjoyed a few meals in small restaurants off the beaten path that were bustling with locals.
However, the early airport train option was limited due to a locked entrance.
